Part IV – What quality standards should I look for in a hand-made swinging real carriage house garage door?

 At a minimum (con’t):

  • Solid, strong species of wood that will last for years; including Mahogany and Vertical Grain Douglas Fir.  Stay away from cedar or hem-fir.
  • True 1 3/4″ exterior thicknesses for your door.  Stay away from glib imitation carriage doors built at thickness of 1 1/2″.
